The official legal-guarantee notice

One click opens the official EU notice in the visitor’s language — all 24 EU languages, never edited.

The GARAN label, only when it is true

Shown next to products whose durability guarantee is verified in the GARAN database. No match, no label — never a wrong claim.

Placed visually, without code

Open your own product page, click the spot and save. Works with any theme, on every product page.

Matches your shop

Colours, font, border and badge size chosen in your GARAN account, with a live preview.

Fast and private

A small deferred script: no cookies, no tracking, no impact on page speed.

Always in your control

Switch it off from the plugin settings at any time, without uninstalling.

How to install the GARAN plugin for OpenCart

  1. Download the ZIP for your OpenCart version (4.0.x or 3.0.x) from this page.
  2. Go to Extensions → Installer and upload the ZIP. On OpenCart 4 click Install next to “GaranDB.eu”; on OpenCart 3 then go to Extensions → Modifications and click Refresh.
  3. Go to Extensions → Extensions → Modules, install “GaranDB.eu”, click Edit and then “Add & customise in my GARAN account”.
  4. In your GARAN account, open one of your product pages with “Pick visually”, click where the link and the GARAN label should appear and save. Done — it applies to every product page.

Everything after step 2 happens in your GARAN account: the plugin has no other settings, so changes go live without updating it.

Questions about the OpenCart plugin

Which download do I need, OpenCart 4 or OpenCart 3?

Check the version at the bottom of your admin panel: 4.0.x needs the OpenCart 4 ZIP, 3.0.x the OpenCart 3 ZIP. Both do the same thing.

Does it modify OpenCart core files?

No. On OpenCart 4 it uses a single event that adds the script to the page header; on OpenCart 3 a small OCMOD adds it to the header template. Nothing else is changed.

My theme has its own header. Will it still work?

In most cases, yes. If the script does not load on your theme, paste the single script line from your GARAN account into the theme’s header — everything else stays the same.

Where does the GARAN label get the brand and model of each product?

From the product data published in the page (schema.org JSON-LD or microdata). If your theme does not publish it, an SEO extension that adds product structured data solves it. The label appears only when a verified guarantee for that brand and model exists in the GARAN database.

Will it slow my store down?

No. The script is small, loaded with defer so it never blocks the page, and sets no cookies.

Is the plugin free?

Yes. The plugin, the GARAN account, the visual picker and the styling are free. There is no paid version and no limit on products or page views.

What is the harmonised notice?

A standard poster reminding consumers of their 2-year legal guarantee of conformity under Directive (EU) 2019/771. Every seller must display it prominently, in shops and online, from 27 September 2026. It cannot be edited in any way.

What is the EU GARAN label?

The harmonised EU label for the commercial guarantee of durability. Producers who voluntarily guarantee a product for more than 2 years — free of charge, covering the entire good — display it so consumers can recognise durable products at a glance. It is defined by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960, under Directive (EU) 2024/825.
