How to install the GARAN plugin for WooCommerce

  1. Download the free ZIP from this page.
  2. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP file and click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Open Settings → GaranDB.eu and click “Add & customise in my GARAN account”.
  4. In your GARAN account, open one of your product pages with “Pick visually”, click where the link and the GARAN label should appear and save. Done — it applies to every product page.

Everything after step 2 happens in your GARAN account: the plugin has no other settings, so changes go live without updating it.

Questions about the WooCommerce plugin

Does it work with my theme (block themes, Elementor, Divi…)?

Yes. The plugin only loads the script; the link and the GARAN label are inserted at the place you pick visually on your own product page, so it works with classic themes, block themes and page builders alike.

Do I need WooCommerce?

No. The legal-guarantee link works on any WordPress site. The GARAN label is meant for product pages, so it is most useful with WooCommerce.

Where does the GARAN label get the brand and model of each product?

From the product data published in the page (schema.org JSON-LD or microdata), which WooCommerce and SEO plugins such as Yoast or Rank Math already add. The label appears only when a verified guarantee for that brand and model exists in the GARAN database.

Is it compatible with HPOS and the checkout blocks?

Yes. The plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage and the cart & checkout blocks — it never touches orders, cart or checkout.

Will it slow my shop down?

No. The script is small, loaded with defer so it never blocks the page, and sets no cookies.

Is the plugin free?

Yes. The plugin, the GARAN account, the visual picker and the styling are free. There is no paid version and no limit on products or page views.

What is the harmonised notice?

A standard poster reminding consumers of their 2-year legal guarantee of conformity under Directive (EU) 2019/771. Every seller must display it prominently, in shops and online, from 27 September 2026. It cannot be edited in any way.

What is the EU GARAN label?

The harmonised EU label for the commercial guarantee of durability. Producers who voluntarily guarantee a product for more than 2 years — free of charge, covering the entire good — display it so consumers can recognise durable products at a glance. It is defined by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960, under Directive (EU) 2024/825.
